Delete your Caudal data
You can delete individual catches, remove specific information, or delete your whole Caudal account. Everything below can be done in the app, and nothing requires contacting us first.
Delete a single catch
Open the Log, press and hold the catch, and confirm “Delete this catch?” The catch is removed from your device and from our cloud immediately. Your account and every other catch are untouched.
Remove information from a catch without deleting it
Open the catch from the Log and tap Edit. You can clear or correct the location, species, date, lure, body of water and any measurement you entered. Saving replaces the old values in the cloud.
Remove another angler
In Profile → Other Anglers, swipe left on a name to remove them. That deletes their calibration from this device. Other anglers’ calibrations are never uploaded, so there is nothing stored elsewhere.
Stop collecting location
Location is optional and off until you allow it. To stop attaching it to new catches:
- Android:Settings → Apps → Caudal → Permissions → Location
- iPhone:Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Caudal
Existing catches keep the location already saved; edit or delete them individually using the steps above.
Stop contributing to Training Mode
If you were invited into Training Mode, turn off “Contribute catches to model training” in Profile. No further photos are uploaded. To ask us to remove contributions already made, email support@phalanxfishing.com.
Delete your entire account
In the app: Profile → Delete account. This immediately and permanently removes your account and catch log from our cloud, and clears your account record, hand calibration and catch log from the device.
If you no longer have the app installed, email support@phalanxfishing.com from the address associated with your account, with “Delete my account” in the subject. We respond within 7 business days and complete deletions within 30 days.
What is deleted
Your account and email address, your entire catch log, and the per-species correction data Caudal built from measurements you entered.
What is kept, and for how long
- Backups— deleted data is removed from our active systems within 30 days and from our provider’s rolling backups within 90 days.
- Support emails— correspondence you sent us is kept for up to 24 months.
- Training Mode contributions— if you opted in, contributions may be kept on a de-identified basis to improve our measurement models, as described in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
What we never had in the first place
Hand calibration measurements are stored only on your device and are never sent to us, so there is nothing for us to delete. Removing the app removes them. The same applies to your fish photos unless you opted into Training Mode.
